As a reader, I know that the more details I have about a character, the more delighted I’ll be. That’s why I want to show you some of the characters from A Choice of Love today.
The Keaths are quite the combination–especially when they’re thrust together under circumstances none of them like. In fact, the word explosive might fit them best.
But words can’t do them justice, so let me give you a look at the Keaths instead.
Matt Keath
That’s him on the front cover of the book. And, in case you couldn’t tell, he’s all cowboy. He loves Stetsons, spurs, and most of all, his high-topped boots.
A few years ago, he worked as a deputy, but that lifestyle only made him fed up with people. Now, he’d be happy with as few people in his life as possible and plenty of open range to ride.
But life has rarely given him what he wants. After a letter arrives informing him that the one person he wants in his life is dead, he’s faced with his duty. And he’s never been one to shirk his duties, even if this time it means facing plows, milk cows, and kids–all things that make him want to run back west.
Joyanna Keath
Joyanna never realized she had a third uncle, but now life has suddenly turned much happier. She’s pretty sure her Uncle Matt would be lost if he didn’t have her at his elbow, explaining life to him. Mama said he was a heathen, so throwing in some extra talk about God is a necessity.
Grant and Austin Keath
If the big man with the startling voice and the frightening presence would just bring their Pa back and leave, that would make them happy again. Safety vanished when he arrived, and now they can never tell when that man will show up. At suppertime. During their play. Worst of all, he’s sometimes the first thing they lay eyes on when they wake up in the morning.
Emily Keath
Being widowed at twenty-six was never something she planned for. Added to that is the responsibility of three young children and the weight of running the farm. What she doesn’t need is Colton’s wild brother showing up claiming to help her. He can’t replace Colton–and he needs to realize that, the sooner the better.
A reclusive cowboy, a chatty little girl, two man-shy boys, and a widow trying to hold her farm together.
Sounds like the perfect combination, doesn’t it?
