Alena has lived her entire life on a farm in the heart of Nebraska, running through the pastures with her siblings, trekking through the creek bottoms, playing on top of the square bales stacked in the barn loft, and swimming in the muddy farm pond. All things that every kid ought to experience. With her childhood filled with those kinds of old-fashioned adventure, it’s no surprise that she decided to write historical fiction.
